Important Beliefs

THE BIBLE: It is the literal Word Of God; the Authority for our daily lives, the pattern for Church practice and the basis of our Eternal Hope. 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Ephesians 6:17

JESUS CHRIST: He is the Eternal Son of God and Savior who gave His life as the ransom payment for the sins of man. He rose from the dead bodily and will return to Earth bodily to gather together those who believe in Him and establish His Eternal Kingdom. Mark 10:45, Ephesians 3:11, John 3:16, John 5:23, John 14:6

THE HOLY SPIRIT: The One who enlightens every man of their need of a Savior, reveals the person of Jesus Christ to the believer, empowers us to live godly lives and enables us to serve and build up the church through gifts he gives according to His will. 2 Peter 1:21, Ephesians 4:30, Galatians 5:22, 1 Corinthians 12:7, John 16:13-14

PERSONAL SALVATION: Every person is in need of the forgiveness and restoration that only God can provide. Sin has damaged us and separated us from God. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ satisfies God’s wrath against sin and assures Eternal Life for anyone who puts their trust in Him as Lord and Savior; receiving God’s forgiveness as a gift. 1 Peter 1:18-21, Romans 4:25, Romans 10:13, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

THE CHURCH: Universally – those united by common faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Locally – believers who meet together regularly for teaching, worship, fellowship, and prayer. 1 Corinthians 12:13, 1 Corinthians 12:27, Philippians 1:1, Ephesians 4:16, Acts 2:42

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ETBC part of a denomination?

We are non-denominational, following the words in Ephesians 4:3-4 to “...keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body…”

Why does ETBC have a communion service each week?

1 Corinthians 11:25-26 and the words of Christ Himself in the Gospels, encourage believers to remember the Lord in his death through the breaking of bread.  it says “as often as you do this…” and so we feel a weekly remembrance keeps our focus on the death and resurrection of Christ.

Is the Tuesday Explorer’s Club open to children outside of ETBC?

Most definitely!  Our club is a well structured and really fun time with age appropriate classes, crafts or activities, singing and a great bible lesson.

What is the church government at ETBC?

We follow the New Testament pattern for church government: Leadership and direction coming through a group of qualified and respected men called elders or pastors, see 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1 and Philippians 1:1.

Does ETBC recognize the biblical distinctions regarding the roles of men and women and their proper expression in church practice?

Yes, we seek to follow the scriptures in these important areas, see 1 Corinthians 11:3-6, 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:8-15

How would it be best to visit ETBC?

The Family Bible Hour is at 10:30 AM.  There is a fellowship time with coffee and snacks a little after 10:00 AM. Come then and we can meet you before the service!
